There was a new record set this week and it had nothing to do with the sports or the Olympic trials. The United States set a new record for the number of daily coronavirus cases recorded in the country. This comes after almost a full year of the Biden presidency.
Politico reported that America registered its highest single-day total of new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and the new record number is 441,278 infections. This record blasted past the previous record by close to 150,000 cases.
Politico wrote, “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s tally represents a grim new milestone in the coronavirus pandemic and comes as the Omicron strain has quickly taken hold throughout the U.S., leading to long lines at testing sites and sold-out rapid tests at many stores.”
This milestone comes after President Joe Biden pledged over and over again while on the campaign trail that he would “shut down the virus.” But the truth is that more citizens have died under Biden’s command than had died under former President Trump’s.
According to a CDC spokesperson, the total number of cases may be overestimated because of the unavailability of some state reporting. The numbers will be more concrete after the new year.
It was reported in The New York Times this week that the United States recorded 543,415 new coronavirus cases. And CNN reported that America saw a severe-day average of 254,496 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, which is beyond the previous record of 251,989 daily cases. This is based on data from Johns Hopkins University.
The failed promises of Biden to shut down the pandemic have caused his approval ratings to plummet. And the president recently told governors that he had “no federal solution.” He said that the challenges from the pandemic should get solved at the state level.
Polls on the president’s job approval indicate that the number of people who say he is doing a “bad job” regarding the pandemic has doubled from 23% in his first month of office to 46% as of November.
According to the CDC, on January 20th of this year, there were 400,306 deaths reported in the United States due to the coronavirus. That was the day Biden officially became the president. But since then the number of people who have died from the coronavirus is greater than 400,306. The most recent report from the CDC has the number of deaths at 800,939, and that means that at least 400,633 Americans have died since Biden became president.
The New York Times currently reported that there have been 803,964 deaths from the coronavirus. That number continues to rise every day and since there is no federal solution being presented, there is no end in sight.
What makes these numbers even more horrendous is that Biden has had an effective vaccine at his disposal since his first day in office. But his administration has not had success in getting control of this pandemic.
When Biden was asked about his promise to shut it all down, he just smirked and walked away. And when he was asked about his responsibility for the American citizens who have died during his presidency, again Biden just smirked and threw his hand up at the reporter who asked the question. Then he walked away.
Biden was quick to blame former President Trump for every American that died during his watch in the Oval Office.
“If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive. All the people—I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data,” Biden claimed.
He even said that Trump should be taken out of office before his time was finished because he was “responsible” for “220,000 deaths.”
