If you haven’t heard, there’s a major supply chain crisis going on. And what’s being affected the most at the moment is baby formula. It’s out of stock pretty much everywhere.
In fact, according to recent reports from The Wall Street Journal, about 43 percent of baby formula is out of stock nationwide. And in more than 30 states, that percentage is even higher. As The Journal reported, the normal out-of-stock rate is about 10 percent.
Naturally, this is a massive problem. Unlike you and I, infants can really only eat one of two things, their mother’s milk or formula. And for many, many mothers and/or their babies, the first is simply not an option, either physically or realistically. This means formula is an absolute must.
And yet, for the vast majority of America, it’s become increasingly hard to find, as well as much, much more expensive to buy, thanks to its increasing supply and demand problems as well as growing inflation.
Then again, if you’re an immigrant at our nation’s southern border, that supply and demand problem isn’t really a problem at all. In fact, according to a number of growing reports, there’s quite a stockpile of it down there – and all coming in at Biden’s request.
One such report comes from Republican Representative Kat Cammack from Florida.
Cammack recently went on a trip to the border to check out the many rumors she had heard about baby formula being available en masse there. What she found were shelves filled to the brim with any and all kinds of baby formula and a stockpile most mothers could only dream of at the moment.
Cammack posted photos of her find on Wednesday of last week, showing a Customs and Border Protection detention facility in McCallen, Texas, fully stocked with baby formula. Alongside this photo was one of the many empty store shelves to be found in any number of American stores.
And on Monday, Cammack took to the airways with Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo to discuss the differences.
As the congresswoman explained, she had received some text messages and photos from a few Border Patrol agents showing the stockpiles of baby formula at the border. When she and others outed this information to the press, everyone from the White House to CNN claimed she was lying. “So I decided to go down myself and film it,” she told Bartiromo.
“Lo and behold, not only was there stocked warehouses, but there were multiple stocked warehouses that have been not only filled with baby formula, diapers, wipes, and clothing, but they have been doing this for months and there’s more en route.”
Now, to be sure, the federal government is required to keep food and water on hand and plentiful to incoming immigrants, both legal and illegal. After all, we can’t have immigrants being starved to death on our watch. And naturally, having baby supplies, including formula, is part of that.
