Candace Owens and AOC Go At It Again Over Gun Laws

Truly one of the great feuds in popular politics in America is between the Daily Wire’s Candace Owens and democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). And Owens typically gets the best of AOC.

That was true this week after AOC ranted about gun laws after the tragic shooting deaths of 21 souls at an elementary school in Texas. An 18-year-old male forced his way into Robb Elementary School and just opened fire killing 19 children and two adults. He was stopped when a U.S. Border Patrol agent rushed into the line of fire and killed him.

The progressive socialist from New York then tweeted about the “laws” in our country that allow children to be shot in their schools.

There is no such thing as being ‘pro-life’ while supporting laws that let children be shot in their schools, elders in grocery stores, worshippers in their houses of faith, survivors by abusers, or anyone in a crowded place. It is an idolatry of violence. And it must end,” AOC wrote on Twitter.

Owens did not waste any time, she responded by asking AOC exactly what law she was referring to. She wanted to know specifically what United States law allows for children to be shot in schools.

You won’t name it because it doesn’t exist. You are shameless, bought-and-paid for politician, standing on the bodies of dead children to score political points,” Owens continued.

Owens wasn’t the only one who took issue with the tweet from AOC, there was widespread criticism of her political rant.

Kristi Leigh, a journalist, wanted to know if in these cases of school shootings the most strict laws were broken, and what makes AOC believe that more laws will fix the problem.

Arthur Schwartz, a political strategist, reminded AOC that the elementary school was a gun-free zone under state and federal law. Then he called the New York representative a “galaxy brain.”

Mike Cernovich, a political commentator, said that AOC wants to make it so schools couldn’t hire police. He said that nobody needed to hear from her and that she did not even take care of her Abeulea. Wow.

Dan McLaughlin, a writer for the National Review, said, “AOC whatabouting herself into saying the intentional death of 63 million children is just a statistic.”

And Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton tweeted, “Fact check: False. Criminal laws don’t allow the shooting of children or any other innocent citizen. Pro-lifers want to extend protection of the law to the lives of unborn human beings.”

AOC wasn’t done after the backlash against her. She went further and criticized Texas Senator Ted Cruz for tweeting about the tragic school shooting after he was slated to speak at a National Rifle Association meeting in Houston this weekend.

Cruz will be joined at this event by former President Donald Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Cruz tweeted that he and his wife were “fervently lifting up in prayer the children and families in the horrific shooting in Uvalde.”

And Ocasio-Cortez responded: “Aren’t you slated to headline a speaking gig for the NRA in three days – in Houston, no less? You can do more than pray. Faith without works is dead.”

AOC wasn’t alone in going after Sen. Cruz. Fred Guttenberg, the father of Jaime Guttenberg who was shot in the 2019 Parkland school shooting, had some words for the Texas senator.

“March into Senator [Chris] Murphy’s office right now tonight, and you be the Republican who says ‘I’ve had enough’ because if you don’t get your ass out of office, you don’t belong there. I’m sorry,” Guttenberg told Cruz.

The battle lines are clearly drawn, and this won’t be the end of the Owens/AOC feud.
