While the Jan 6 committee is seeking Trump’s head on a silver platter and the nation is reeling over abortion rights, it’s easy to lose track of things that not too long ago had our undivided attention. Pedophile pimp to the political elite, Jeffrey Epstein, had his name rolling off every tongue in America until something newer and shinier came along. The tale of Epstein and his rope-burned neck might be stale and moldy, but the story of Ghislaine Maxwell, his illustrious ‘pimptress’, is just now reaching its final chapter as she at long last is being sentenced.
Together, team Epstein/Maxwell wiped their tushies with dollar bills to impress and lure young girls into their overwhelmingly elaborate world of celebrities, politicians, and untold riches. Once the hook had been set, girls as young as 14 were forced to provide sexual favors for whichever wrinkly old hairy eared guy Maxwell commanded them to please.
Over the course of a decade, each of the young fleshly flock was pawed and penetrated hundreds of times. The children were made to succumb to secretive fetishes which resulted in some of them being severely knocked around only to be patched up and called back to duty. Using a fictitious name to better set the example, Maxwell’s motto was, “Whatever Bill wants, Bill gets.”
Prosecutors got straight to the point in their no-BS court filing. “Maxwell’s conduct was shockingly predatory. She was a calculating, sophisticated, and dangerous criminal who preyed on vulnerable young girls and groomed them for sexual abuse.”
Maxwell’s been in prison since December when a jury convicted her of two counts of conspiracy, transporting minors for illicit sexual purposes, and sex trafficking. The only unknown at this point is if she’ll have to stay where she’s at for another 30 to 55 years as the prosecutors feel would be fair. For Maxwell, age 60, even the minimal suggested term would be a life sentence.
Maxwell continues to defy all logic by claiming she never abused anyone. Epstein did all that stuff. Her attorney team told U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan that their client shouldn’t receive any more than five years if even that. Don’t look for this to happen.
Their court filing reads, “The witnesses at the trial testified about Ms. Maxwell’s facilitation of Epstein’s abuse, but Epstein was always the central figure: Epstein was the mastermind, Epstein was the principal abuser, and Epstein orchestrated the crimes for his personal gratification.”
For over 17 years scores of abused women came forward with their fingers pointed at Epstein, but money, power, and the right connections kept him clean as a whistle for way too long of a time. All of the women said it was Maxwell who recruited them to give Epstein his “special” massages which eventually led to further abuse at the hands of whichever big shot took a fancy to them.
Four of the women testified how they were flown to Epstein’s sprawling spreads in New Mexico, Florida, New York, and the Virgin Islands in the late 1990s and early 2000s where they were served up as “party favors.”
Epstein offing himself saved taxpayers a lot of money for which we should all be eternally grateful. We can only hope that maybe Maxwell will also have our best interests at heart and do likewise. This would also help the women who were abused as young girls sleep a little better at night knowing the wicked witch who destroyed their lives, is dead. Ding. Dong.
