The Passing of This FL Law Could Mean DeSantis is Running

With 2024 and its presidential election quickly approaching, everyone is talking about candidates and possible candidates. Clearly, Donald Trump is one such individual. Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, is another, despite no announcement being made as to whether or not he’ll actually run.

However, recent signs show a move in one direction over another, leading many to believe an official announcement will soon be made. And it all starts with this new Florida law.

It’s called “Resign to Run.” As its name suggests, it would require all those seeking a higher office to first resign from their current positions beforehand. So if a district attorney wanted to run for attorney general, they would have to leave as DA first.

However, when running for either the presidency or the vice presidency, the rule does not apply. Should DeSantis seek to throw his hat in the ring against Trump and Biden, he won’t have to lose his seat as governor to do so. It also means that should the election not go in his favor, he can return to the governor’s mansion when it’s all over.

For some time now, DeSantis has been one of the most talked about names in the nation, at least in terms of possible 2024 GOP candidates. Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, he’s proven himself a strong leader and one who isn’t afraid to buck the system or the political norms.

As you likely have heard, in the past few years as The Sunshine State’s leader, he’s taken on big corporations like Disney, the sexual identity/transgender movement, election fraud, the education system, and more. And he’s succeeded with all those efforts, making Florida safer and more productive for just about everyone.

As a result, people from all over the nation have been impressed, even calling him “America’s Governor.”

It’s no wonder, then, that rumor has it he’ll run for president.

The only question up until now has been why he hasn’t announced a run yet, especially when names like Trump and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley have.

Perhaps, this law explains that. It’s a good possibility that he wasn’t quite willing to take on Trump if it meant losing his seat as governor as well.

Well, now, he won’t have to worry about that.

And so, those close to the governor fully expect an announcement to be made within the next few days.
