Speaking before a town hall on September 6th, Democrat and Mayor of New York City Eric Adams let it be known just how badly he is at doing his job. The 110,000 illegals who arrived at the southern border only to go to NYC are destroying him. A liberal utopia he was trying to craft while using virtue signaling to support his incentives is now crumbling at his very feet.
“Let me tell you something New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month,”
He continued, “One time we were just getting Venezuela, now we’re getting Ecuador, now we’re getting Russian-speaking coming through Mexico, now we’re getting Western Africa, now we’re getting people from all over the globe who have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come into New York City. And everyone is saying, ‘It’s New York City’s problem.’ Every community in this city is going to be impacted. We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut every service in this city is going to be impacted.”
Reminding people that he explained that every neighborhood would be impacted when 15,000 arrived, he knows now, at 110,000, there is no hiding the truth. The city is now doomed, and there is nothing he or the rest of the left and their lies and deceit are going to do to stop it.
Coincidentally enough, New York’s leading Democrat, Governor Kathy Hochul, has an opposite viewpoint on the subject. Instead of opposing the illegals flooding the border, she is embracing the idea of bringing them to NY and making them into a new source of exploitation for their workforce. While there is a lack of good jobs to support the over-taxed cost of living in non-metro parts of NY, she overlooks these areas. Instead, she focuses solely on the urban areas that will take many of them and gain ample funding in the meantime.
Her workforce initiatives only push employers to hire foreign workers for less money. It pushes hard-working Americans out of a job. When these illegals get the citizenship she and other leftists are trying to give them via boxtops, they are likely to remember who gave them this gift and who let them have it with no sacrifice; Democrats.
This memory is something she and others are counting on. Why? Because they aren’t coming face to face with the reality of these atrocities. Yet Adams is now seeing it daily, and he is trying to warn her and everyone else about how dangerous this is. A message that other Mayors and elected officials along the southern border have been preaching for years now. Now that it is in their faces, they are seeing the danger.
Another unforeseen danger is the plan from Hochul and her donors to have the Biden administration bail them out with free healthcare, housing, and public transit for the border jumpers and illegals across New York. This effort would run easily into the billions of dollars and would only add to the $12 billion NYC alone is expected to spend by 2025.
Their plan of flooding the American streets with illegals has only cost them dearly so far. With the number of gang members, terrorists, and drug mules that have snuck in, it’s no surprise that this is only serving to blow up in their faces. Add in the human trafficking element, and this is suddenly becoming a disaster of biblical proportions.
Adams is right, though, it will destroy NYC. Then again, perhaps it needs that destruction so they can see the fruits of their labor.
