Like many Republican governors, South Dakota’s Kristi Noem is strongly against open borders. Ironically, this view has closed the border of a local South Dakota Indian reservation off to her.
A South Dakota tribe has banned Gov. Kristi Noem from the Pine Ridge Reservation after she spoke this week about wanting to send razor wire and security personnel to Texas to help deter immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border. https://t.co/xEPGwmxPr1 https://t.co/bqVPOo2dcz

As you may know, Noem is among a growing number of state leaders who approve of the job that Texas is doing to secure its borders despite Biden’s opposition to such. Of course, Noem doesn’t just not like what’s going on surrounding the borders in Texas; she doesn’t like how it’s affecting her state.
As she said in a statement, “The cartels are here in South Dakota, and they are perpetuating violence and criminal activity daily on South Dakota families. They are killing our children with their drugs and trafficking.”
Specifically, Noem mentioned a criminal, cartel-associated gang known as the “Ghost Dancers” have caused an increasing number of problems in the Rapid City area of southwestern Dakota. She also mentioned that if it will help reduce these problems, she will get her state to send Texas more razor wire to put up at their border.
But it seems the Oglala Sioux Tribes president, Frank Star Comes Out, has a problem with these remarks. As such, he’s banning Noem from the Pine Ridge Reservation, which lies about 120 miles from Rapid City.
The first problem he has is that Noem dares to call the criminal gang by its name.
“I and the Oyate (Sioux people) are deeply offended that you alleged that ‘Ghost Dancers’ are affiliated with these cartels. Ghost Dance: one of the most (sic) sacred ceremonies was used with blatant disrespect and is insulting to our Oyate.”

The second issue is that Noem would help Texas secure their borders.
“Many people coming to the Southern border of the United States in search of jobs and a better life are Indian people from such places as El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico… They don’t need to be put in cages, separated from their children like during the Trump Administration, or be cut up by razor wire furnished by, of all places, South Dakota.”
So because Noem doesn’t like open borders, Star Comes Out is going to close his own… Typical liberal hypocrisy at its finest, huh?
