It’s July and the Democrat Party is in full disintegration mode. After Joe Biden metaphorically pooped the bed during his first and probably last debate with Donald Trump, they know they can’t win the election this November without some changes. Replacing Biden at the top of the ticket is an exercise in futility at this point. But what if they replace Kamala Harris with someone more palatable to Democrat voters? Hillary Clinton has convinced herself that she is the only person who can save the Democrats from this hot mess, and she is reportedly making her move to knife Kamala in the back.
Hillary Clinton has been doing a lot to suddenly raise her profile this summer. If you’ve been paying attention to the Clintons for a while, you realize that this is no accident. What better way for Hillary to sneak her way in and become President—her only goal in life—than by bumping Kamala Harris out of the way? Joe Biden always looks like he’s staring into a light at the end of a tunnel these days, so it would only be a matter of time before Hillary would end up in the big chair.
Replacing Biden simply isn’t an option, no matter how much the media is suddenly fantasizing about it. He’s secured 90% of the delegates for the convention in August. His campaign has got about $60 million in cash on hand and that money can’t be transferred to some other replacement candidate. Even if a bunch of high-profile Democrats choose to battle it out at a contested convention at the end of August, the eventual replacement would be limping into September with no money to campaign on yet.
Plus, state laws in Nevada, Georgia, and Wisconsin say that Joe Biden can’t be replaced with some other candidate at this point. If they shoved Biden aside now and replaced him with somebody like Gavin Newsom, the Democrats would be ceding 32 electoral votes in three crucial swing states to Donald Trump. Not gonna happen. It would be a political suicide mission to be the replacement for Joe Biden.
In the latest FiveThirtyEight polling average, 49% of voters disapprove of Kamala Harris and only 39% approve of her. That’s barely an improvement over Joe Biden’s 56% disapproval rating. One open question is whether Democrat voters would really see Hillary as an improvement over Kamala.
Another question is how do you make Kamala Harris go away quietly?
Kamala was reportedly furious when the DNC asked Joe Biden to step down over the weekend. Having Kamala replace Joe as the nominee never even came up in the discussion because no one in the leadership of the Democrat Party views her as competent enough for the job. It especially enraged Kamala that all the potential Biden replacements were white people.
Kamala knows, just as Hillary does, that her only chance of ever becoming president is by staying hitched to Joe Biden. We know from Kamala’s past history that she’s willing to do literally anything for political power. She doesn’t seem like the type to quietly step aside and let Hillary replace her.
We can only speculate as to what the Clintons are offering Kamala to make her shut up and go away. Maybe they have some incriminating photos of her. Given the Clintons’ history, maybe it’s time for Kamala Harris to hire a food taster.
