The Irony Olympics: Trump’s Victory and the Left’s Sudden Love for Election Integrity

Well, isn’t this rich? Donald Trump, the man the Left said could never win again, just waltzed back into the White House, and suddenly, we’re back to the Democrats being the champions of “election integrity.” You really have to admire their commitment to irony—it’s practically an art form at this point. After spending years telling us that questioning elections was tantamount to treason, they’re now furiously questioning Trump’s victory like their jobs depend on it. Maybe they should’ve saved some of those January 6 hearings for their own party.

Let’s not forget, Trump’s so-called “election denial movement” was never about denying elections. It was about asking questions—questions the media didn’t want to answer, courts didn’t want to hear, and election officials were too busy “curing ballots” to address. But now that Trump has won fair and square, his opponents are marching in lockstep to cast doubt on his victory. Is this what they mean by unity? Because if so, we’re in for a real treat over the next four years.

The media, of course, is having an existential crisis. For years, they’ve assured us that Trump’s claims about election irregularities were the ravings of a madman. But now, as they scramble to explain how he managed to beat their preferred candidate, they’re suddenly discovering that elections can, in fact, have “anomalies.” The same people who mocked the idea of ballot harvesting and questioned voter ID laws are now poring over county-level data like Sherlock Holmes with a magnifying glass. You’d think they’d learn some consistency, but then again, this is the same crowd that told us inflation was “transitory.”

And then there’s the Democratic Party, which seems to be auditioning for the role of sore loser in a political soap opera. They’re already rolling out the greatest hits: claims of voter suppression, allegations of foreign interference, and, of course, the timeless classic—blaming the Russians. You can almost hear Hillary Clinton warming up in the wings, ready to deliver another speech about how the election was stolen. It’s like 2016 all over again, except this time, the conspiracy theories are coming from the people who told us conspiracies were dangerous.

What’s truly fascinating, though, is how Trump’s win has exposed the Left’s hypocrisy on election integrity. When Democrats lose, every vote suddenly matters, every recount is sacred, and every absentee ballot deserves a second look. But when Trump questioned the results in 2020, he was labeled a threat to democracy itself. Funny how that works. If democracy were a football game, the rules would change every time the other team scores.

And let’s not overlook the Republicans who are secretly—or not so secretly—uncomfortable with Trump’s victory. The swamp isn’t just inhabited by Democrats; there are plenty of establishment Republicans who would’ve preferred a nice, predictable loss. For them, Trump’s win is a reminder that their voters aren’t interested in the same old losing strategies. They want a fighter, someone who actually keeps promises and doesn’t spend more time worrying about CNN’s approval than the American people’s interests.

So where does this leave us? For starters, it’s a wake-up call for anyone still clinging to the illusion that our political class has principles. If Trump’s victory has shown us anything, it’s that the people who scream the loudest about democracy are often the ones who respect it the least. They don’t care about fair elections—they care about winning. And when they lose, they’ll do whatever it takes to undermine the results, even if it means accusing Trump of doing exactly what they’ve been doing for years.

The next four years are going to be a wild ride. The media will continue its meltdown, the Democrats will double down on their denial, and Trump will do what Trump does best: drive them all crazy while delivering for the American people. So buckle up, folks. The Left may be marching on, but Trump is leading the parade, and something tells me he’s just getting started.
