The newly minted “Border Czar,” Thomas Homan, has announced that “thousands” of retired border agents and military veterans are lining up to assist with the Trump administration’s mass deportation plans. Homan spilled the details Monday on Fox and Friends.

“I had to shut my phone off Friday night because I couldn’t handle all the calls, texts, and emails,” Homan said. Thousands of border patrol and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents were excited about the rumor that Homan might return. But what’s even more impressive is the thousands of retired ICE agents, border patrol, and military folks volunteering to help secure the border and execute the deportation operations.

Homan, a former acting director of ICE, was officially announced as “Border Czar” on Sunday by President-elect Donald Trump via Truth Social.

Trump added that Tom Homan, known for his strong stance on border control, will take charge of securing the nation’s southern and northern borders as well as maritime and aviation security. Homan will also be responsible for overseeing deportation efforts, with Trump emphasizing that no one is more suited for the role. Trump’s administration isn’t pulling punches. Mass deportations are set to kick off on Day One.

Homan has been a vocal figure on border security for years. Back in 2016, Trump appointed him as acting ICE director, where he made a name for himself by clashing with Democrats over immigration policies. One particularly memorable moment? Homan’s fiery exchange with Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal during a House Judiciary Committee hearing in 2019.

“Want to know why we have 50,000 people in detention? Or a million illegal entries? It’s because you’ve failed to secure the border,” Homan told Democrats bluntly.

When Jayapal tried to cut him off, Homan doubled down. “This is a circus,” he declared, refusing to be silenced.

Love him or hate him, Homan isn’t one to back down—and with him leading Trump’s border team, the administration’s immigration crackdown is about to get real.
