A “rising star” of the Democrat Party has been fined $10,000 for ethical violations during her time as Kentucky Secretary of State. Alison Lundergan Grimes is a close personal friend of Crooked Hillary Clinton, and she served as Kentucky’s Secretary of State from 2012 until she was term-limited out in 2020.
So, what “ethics violations” did she commit? The same ones as virtually every other Democrat Secretary of State in the country. She was helping the Democrat Party to cheat in elections while abusing the authority of her office.
While she was Secretary of State, Grimes was the Democrat Party’s choice to run against Mitch McConnell in his 2014 reelection campaign for the US Senate. Grimes’ father, former Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Jerry Lundergan, went to prison in 2019 for making illegal campaign contributions to his daughter in that 2014 campaign. He just got out of prison this past January. So, she comes from good stock!
Grimes has been under investigation by at least three state agencies, including the Kentucky Executive Branch Ethics Commission. According to ProPublica and the Lexington Herald-Leader, Grimes and her staff began conducting illegal searches of people’s voter registration history and voting records several years ago (while Grimes was still in office). They especially looked at the voting records of people applying for jobs with the Secretary of State’s office in an obvious ploy to make sure there were no stealthy Republicans ending up in the office. With all Democrats on staff, it’s much easier to get away with election shenanigans.
Those illegal searches are just part of the ethical violations that Grimes committed while in office. She and her staff also searched the voting records of candidates who ran against her, enemies of the Democrat Party, a federal judge, the Kentucky Education Commissioner, and everyone on the Kentucky Board of Education.
Grimes was able to muscle her way in and basically take control of the Kentucky State Board of Elections, which is an obvious conflict of interest. In fairness to Grimes though, Democrats have never really been in favor of that whole “checks and balances” thing.
Once she was in control of the Board of Elections, she was able to force through a no-bid contract for one of her own campaign donors. Sounds like nice work if you can get it!
Her office got sued, and a court issued a consent decree against her, declaring that she was supposed to clean up Kentucky’s voter rolls before the 2020 election. But because she was in control of the Board of Elections, Grimes was able to dodge ever having to comply with that consent decree.
Can you imagine? Even in the reddest states like Kentucky, we still had dirty voter rolls in the 2020 election. All it takes these days is a few Democrats in key positions, and they will steal your silverware, your underpants, and your elections right out from under you. They don’t even try to hide it at this point.
According to the Ethics Commission, Grimes also illegally downloaded voter registration data onto flash drives for herself and for Democrat Party friends who were running for office. She and her staffers discussed their actions on their personal email accounts in order to dance around the state’s record preservation laws. In other words, Grimes took a cue from her buddy Hillary Clinton on how to avoid scrutiny for her actions.
If this all happened in Kentucky, imagine what’s going on in blue states where no one is paying attention. Imagine how corrupt the elections in states like Oregon and Rhode Island must be. Plus, the fact that Alison Lundergan Grimes was fined $10,000 (which she’s appealing) instead of going to prison shows why we have so much election fraud in America. No one ever gets serious jail time for it.
