Georgia Lawmakers To Hold “Gun-Free Zone” Companies Liable

The Peach State is an appropriate nickname for the state of Georgia. Much like a peach with a worm, the criminals are trying to rot away at Georgia from the outside in. Yet the pit of the peach remains firm, impenetrable, and unwilling to give in to the bite of the worm. Much the same, Georgia lawmakers won’t give in to these criminals or the liberal conduct that breeds them.

One of the best signs for any criminal across America is a gun-free zone sign. Knowing that law-abiding people inside will be unarmed, it’s a no-resistance place for them to strike as everyone is more than likely disarmed. Now, GA lawmakers want to put the full weight of responsibility for these disarmed people on the shoulders of the business owners who knowingly put their lives at risk.

Georgia House Bill 1364 thoroughly reads, “Any lawful weapons carrier who is prohibited from carrying… and who is injured… shall have a cause of action against the person, business or other entity that owns or legally controls such property.”

The bill also explains that they must tell them about the code. “Any public notice posted on a property that includes language which provides that weapons are prohibited on such property shall also contain language citing this Code section and providing that any lawful weapons carrier who is prohibited from carrying his or her weapon, including a concealed weapon, while on such property shall be under the absolute custodial care of the person, business, or other entity that owns or legally controls such property.”

Making such a strong proclamation like this is something no other state has pushed for. A sign that criminals won’t be allowed to have such easy access to easy pickings, this is the kind of change intelligent Americans love seeing.
